I'm the author of Why Do Catholics Do That?; Rosary: Mysteries, Meditations, and the Telling of the Beads; Apparitions: Mystic Phenomena and What They Mean; and a bunch of other books on a wide variety of topics that I'm finishing as fast as I can. My main interests are Catholic Christianity, astronomy, language and linguistics, cooking, health and fitness, art and architecture and their iconography--what all of those silly books about Da Vinci are supposed to be about, but really, which is infinitely more interesting because it's true--and gardening. In terms of gardening, I'm particularly interested in heritage plants, the varieties of crops, fruits, flowers, and herbs that have been kept alive generation after generation, sometimes for thousands of years, by dedicated farmers and gardeners who save the best seed and propagate the best scion wood. These passalong plants are absolutely fundamental to our food supply, because they're the only possible ancestors for the hybrid crops that feed us all. And these living heirlooms are falling into extinction at an appalling rate. If you have any open-pollinated plants, antique fruit trees, old roses, or any other heirloom plant, please visit www.SeedTime.tv today and let us know! Thanks! |
